How do Semaglutide and Tirzepatide work?
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are both FDA-approved, GLP-1 agonist medications. Each medication works to suppress your appetite, reduce cravings, and slow gastric emptying. Paired with a healthy diet and exercise, it can improve blood sugar levels and reduce risk of cardiovascular events by improving insulin sensitivity, which helps the body to use the sugars for energy instead of storing them as fat cells.
How Long Do I Have to be on it?
Each patient is different in starting weight and goal weight. We will monitor you closely and adjust medication dosage as needed to safely get you to your goal.
Who Qualifies?
You are not a candidate for this medication if you have history of thyroid cancer. There are other medical conditions that we have you get labs done before starting and while you are on the medication. If you have any questions or concerns about eligility, schedule a consultation with one of our experienced providers.
Once I Start Injections, Can I Stop?
Of course. The medication stays in your system for up to 30 days. If you would like to stop, schedule an appointment with one of our experienced providers, and we will safely take you off the medication!
