Skin Restructuring

Microneedling-southern-aesthetics.jpg

As we age, our ability to generate new skin cells and collagen decreases.  Years of sun exposure and other environmental or biological factors contribute to the look of aging and damage on our skin. We may have unwanted brown spots, fine lines, larger pore size, acne scarring, and textural concerns. Microneedling is an effective and relatively quick method of triggering a release of natural growth factors, new collagen, and elastin. This process fosters new skin cell growth with a fairly quick healing profile. One treatment may be all you need, though we typically recommend a series of three treatments one month apart for optimal results. Scars may require additional treatments, though we expect improvement with each treatment.

Microneedling can be combined with Hyaluronic Acid and Platelet Rich Plasma for enhanced results and healing!

What is Microneedling?

The holy grail of facial treatments! Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that uses a medical device with tiny, sterile needles that quickly oscillate while moving over the skin. By creating thousands of small holes, or micro-channels, your body is triggered into a natural healing process while inducing collagen production in the skin. Microneedling is great to resurface the skin, reduce the appearance of scars or stretch marks, and reduce the visible signs of aging.

Does Microneedling Require Any Downtime?

Microneedling is minimally invasive and does not require downtime. However, you may experience redness and skin sensitivity for a few days post-treatment. We recommend that you avoid sun exposure immediately after the treatment.

How Long Do Microneedling Results Last?

Microneedling is a temporary procedure, so we recommend a maintenance program of quarterly sessions to keep your skin looking its best. Most patients notice visible results in 1-3 days after their first treatment.

What Can Microneedling Treat?

  • Fine Lines
  • Scar Revision (Acne scars, surgical scars and other scars on face and body)
  • Stretch Marks
  • Photo-damage
  • Tone & Texture
